End-of-Software Updates for Cingular 8125


The following is a list of Technical Support Notices regarding end-of-life/support plans. If your organization is using any of these products, please see the appropriate notice.

End-of-Software Updates for Cingular 8125

This is a notification on our end-of-software plans for the Cingular 8125 and variant devices.

The Good Mobile Messaging 5.0.4 client software does not support the Cingular 8125 and variant devices. As a result, Good 5.0 Service Release 1 (version 5.0.3) is the last client software version that will support these handhelds.

If you have Good Mobile Messaging or Good Mobile Intranet users on Cingular 8125 devices, those users' handhelds will need to stay on version 5.0.3 of Good Mobile Messaging and Intranet until they upgrade to a newer handheld. Please note that you will be able to upgrade your Good server to version 5.0.4 and continue running Good client version 5.0.3 on your Cingular 8125 and derivative handhelds.

Good will continue to offer technical support for Good Mobile Messaging and Intranet to its support customers for version 5.0.3 on the Cingular 8125 through January 7, 2009. The Cingular 8125 belongs to the HTC Wizard family of devices, and is also sold under the following names:

Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft Small Business Server™ (SBS) End-of-Support Notice

This is a notification on our end-of-support plans for Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS).

This is a notification on our end-of-support plans for Good Mobile Messaging (formerly GoodLink) for Microsoft Small Business Server. (SBS). If your company is running Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft Exchange? or Lotus Domino, please disregard this letter.

Our end-of-support plans for Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft Small Business Server include:

Software & Technical Support Timeline:
  • Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft SBS v4.9.1 will be the last version that will be compatible with Microsoft SBS.
  • Also note that new handhelds introduced after v4.9.1, which was released 11/14/2006, will not be compatible with Good Mobile Messaging for SBS.
  • Technical support for Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft SBS including escalations from Good Technology Value-Added-Resellers (VARs), will end after 5/31/2007.
Good VARs may end their support for Good Mobile Messaging for SBS on a different schedule from Good. Good SBS customers should check with their VAR regarding the VAR.s support timeline.

Additional Client Access License (CAL) purchases:
  • Existing customers will be allowed to purchase additional CAL.s until 3/31/2007
  • However, as mentioned above, technical support will end on 5/31/2007
Incentive to Upgrade to Microsoft Exchange
  • Starting in April 2007, Good will offer you free upgrade software if you upgrade to the enterprise version of Microsoft Exchange. If you upgrade to Microsoft Exchange Standard or Enterprise Edition, Good will provide:
    - One (1) Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft Exchange Server License
    - One (1) Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft Exchange CAL for each Good Mobile Messaging for SBS CAL that you currently own
  • This offer will be available until 5/31/2007 and you must have a valid technical support plan from Good or one of its partners

Microsoft Exchange® 5.5 2003 End-of-Life Notice

This is a notification on our end-of-life plans for Good Mobile Messaging (formerly GoodLink) for Microsoft Exchange® 5.5.

This is a notification on our end-of-life plans for Good Mobile Messaging (formerly GoodLink) for Microsoft Exchange 5.5. If your company has migrated to a newer version of Microsoft Exchange (e.g. Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003), please disregard this notice.

Our end-of-life plans for supporting Exchange 5.5 include:

  • Good Mobile Messaging version 4.9.2 is the last server and client software version that is compatible with Exchange 5.5.
  • Also note that new handhelds introduced after December 1, 2006, will not be compatible with Good Mobile Messaging for Exchange 5.5.
May 31, 2007: Good Technical Support for Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft Exchange 5.5 will end after this date.
  • Note that new handhelds introduced after December 1, 2006, will not be compatible with Good Mobile Messaging for Microsoft Exchange 5.5 and will not be eligible for Good Technical Support.
As you may already know, Microsoft officially ended technical support for Exchange 5.5 in January 2006. Even though Good Mobile Messaging version 4.9.2 and earlier is compatible with Exchange 5.5 and the devices supported/certified at that time, we strongly encourage you to migrate to the newer versions of Exchange and take advantage of the many enhancements that are available.
