Are mobile devices and Good software affected?
- Yes, all Good Mobile Messaging supported devices will be affected and Good Server and Client software will need to be upgraded due to the changes in Daylight Saving Time.
- Good Client software - customers MUST upgrade to Good Mobile Messaging 4.9.3 client software (available end of February 2007).
- Good Server software - customers MUST upgrade to Good Messaging Server for Exchange version 4.9.3 and Good Messaging Server for Domino version 4.5.6 (available February 28, 2007).
Windows 2003 and Mobitex devices are not supported. There is also no fix or official work around for the extended DST changes for WM 2003 devices and Mobitex devices.
An unsupported workaround for Windows Mobile 2003 users is to follow the steps outlined below:
- Change device time manually to match current time in Extended DST time period.
- On the second Sunday in March (March 11, 2007), Go to Good Launcher - > Preferences - > Time zone and select a time zone one hour ahead (e.g. if user is in "Pacific Time" zone, then use "Mountain Time" zone).
- Also uncheck the Observe Daylight Saving Time checkbox
- On the first Sunday in November, (November 4, 2007) when the DST period ends, users should revert back to their current time zone. In the above example it would be Pacific Time.
This workaround will allow users to see the calendar appointments correctly on their device.
* * * For this WM2003 unsupported work around only, users are strongly advised not to create appointments from their handheld as they may be off by an hour. * * *
These steps have to be repeated every year.

Do I need to apply DST patches from my device manufacturers?
Device Manufacturer DST Patches are not needed for Good Mobile Messaging but is recommended for other applications on the device.

- Current meeting cursor / grayed-out hours in current day will be off by one hour
- Reminders off by one hour
