Symptom: After
upgrading Treo 680 to 4.9.3 typing the password on a Treo 680 shows as
after entering the password and it wont work.
Cause: Unspecified issue with password UI.
Remedy:
Quick fix - Perform a warm reset. Hold the up arrow on the five-way pad and reset the device holding up until the second Palm logo screen. Enter the correct password when prompted and then soft reset the device otherwise the Treo won't be able to send/receive data or make/receive phone calls. Click for Palm KB on warm reset. Note: it's possible for this problem to recur unless the client is upgraded.
Long term fix - Upgrade to client version 4.9.3.34 or higher
The 4.9.3.34 client release automatically appears in your Good Management Console. For example, in the Good Management Console, navigate to and right-click on the All User Group or other appropriate user group and select the Manage User Group menu item. In the Software & Policy section select the [Edit Group Software...] button to display the Distribute Software window to configure which version each handheld family may use.
