Title: How to use Purgeuser in GoodTools

Fact:

GoodTools is an easy way of running some of the Command Line tools outlined in Chapter 8 of the GoodMobile Administrators Guide. Here, we will discuss the PurgeUser tab in GoodTools: If you want to see how to use any of the other utilities with GoodTools, on this top picture, click the tab that you wish to see information about.

*Note: We usually launch GoodTools.exe from the default path of "C:\Program Files\Good Technology\GoodLink Server\util" (it might not be a bad idea to have the Admin create a shortcut on the GMM desktop for this).

PurgeUser can be used when the hidden Good Technology folder in the user's mailbox was not deleted, whether due to a server failure or other error in the user removal process. If the folder is not removed, the user cannot be provisioned, the GMC will return an error that the user is already provisioned. To use the tool, we need to locate the user's Mailbox DN. If the user is present in the Good Management Console (GMC), you can locate the DN by going into Properties and selecting the Details tab. If the user has been removed, Select New user to bring up the GAL list. Select the user and click on properties on the bottom right. This will display a popup with the user's information. Once we have the DN, we enter it into the tool: Do Not include the quotes.

By clicking Run the Good Technology folder is removed from the user's mailbox and a results window is displayed:

Now the user can be reprovisioned.

Additional Information: In Pre 4.5 versions of GoodTools this purge user tool did not always work. If possible, ugrade to 4.5 or run the Command line version.
