Fact:
GoodTools is an easy way of running the some of the Command Line tools outlined in Chapter 8 of the Good Mobile Administrators Guide. Here we will discuss the ManageProfile tab in GoodTools: If you want to see how to use any of the other utilities with GoodTools, on this top picture, click the tab that you wish to see information about.
*Note: We usually launch GoodTools.exe from the default path of "C:\Program Files\Good Technology\GoodLink Server\util" (it might not be a bad idea to have the Admin create a shortcut on the GoodMobile Messenger (GMM) desktop for this).
Manageprofile is a way to view, create, edit, or delete MAPI profiles. This is useful when MAPI profiles are not being created to adjust or remove existing profiles. When we open the tab, we need to put in the name of the profile we want to work with. If we wanted to see which profiles are there we can select List, then Test:
All current profiles on the GLS are displayed. To send these results up to csteam, we can select Send. The next option is Create/Edit:
If we wanted to Edit the GoodMobile Messenger profile to point it to a new mailbox, we would enter the Profile name and select Create/Edit. If we wanted to Create a profile, we would put the name of the profile in by clicking Test, it brings up the Profile window:
Here we would input the Exchange server and the Goodadmin or other mailbox we wanted to create a MAPI profile on. We would then click Check Name to verify the names can resolve. If we click Apply and then OK, the Profile is Created/Edited and you will get a results window showing the profile list with the new profile or the changes to the current one. Next is delete:
If we wanted to delete the Good Link Server profile or any other listed profile, we could enter that profile's name into the tool and select Delete, and then Test to delete the profile. A results window will then appear showing that the profile is no longer in the list.
