Fact:
GoodTools is an easy way of running some of the Command Line tools outlined in Chapter 8 of the GoodMobile Administrators Guide. Here, we will discuss the CDO tab in GoodTools: If you want to see how to use any of the other utilities with GoodTools, on this top picture, click the tab that you wish to see information about.
*Note: We usually launch GoodTools.exe from the default path of "C:\Program Files\Good Technology\GoodLink Server\util" (it might not be a bad idea to have the Admin create a shortcut on the Good Link Server (GLS) desktop for this).
The First option is CDO or TestCDO. This will check to see if we can access the user's mailbox through CDO and make changes. We start out by filling out the fields:
We input the Exchange server where the user's mailbox is located. Then input the user's mailbox alias; in this case since the user's email address is juggernaught@themutants.com the alias would be juggernaught and in certain cases the alias may be different than the SMTP address (have the admin confirm the alias first). Once the fields are filled out, click Test:
A window will pop up with the test results. This test suceeded. Failures will show errors during the process. If this is the case, having the admin click on Send will send a copy of the results to csteam so you can view them, forward them to Escalations, etc.
Additional Information: Please note that certain options in GoodTools pre 4.5 did not work. To rule that out either have the admin upgrade to 4.5 if they are a pre 4.5 server or have them run the command line version as outlined in Chapter 8 of the admin guide.
