Title: How to manually remove the GoodLink Client from a Pocket PC handheld

Fact: Following are steps on how to manually uninstall the GoodLink Client software from a Pocket PC handheld. Use the "File Explorer" application on the handheld, to delete any of the listed folders or files. This can aslo be done if the device is in it's cradle and Microsoft Activesync connected using a guest partnership. The extensions of the files will not show unless using the cradle method.

1. Soft-Reset the device.
2. Delete the \Program Files\GoodLink folder (Yes To All- to the delete confirmations)
3. Delete the \Program Files\GoodOTAInstaller (if it's there) (Yes To All- to the delete confirmations)
4. Delete the \Temp\GoodLink folder (if it's there)
5. Go to Settings->Today->Appearance Tab->Select Windows Default or desired setting from background other than GoodLink.
6. Go to Settings->Today->Items Tab->uncheck all of the goodlink items
7. Go to Settings->Buttons. Re-assign GoodLink buttons to original assignments (your device may have a different Button configuration depending on the model)

Button1=Calendar      Button7=Windows Media
Button2=Contacts      Button9=User Defined
Button4=Messaging

8. Go to \Windows, Scroll down until you reach the last file in the list that is being displayed on the screen. Tap and hold on the empty space between the last file displayed and the bottom of the screen. A new menu will appear on the screen: select the option which says, "View All Files." You will be now able to see all the hidden files on your Pocket PC. This choice will be retained by your device until you change it. If you do not do this, you will not be able to see all of the files below that you will need to delete.

8. In \Windows, delete any of the following if they exist. (TIP--These files may be easier to find together if you sort the file list by Date):

GoodApp.exp
GoodAppLauncherToday.dll

GoodLinkSettings.cpl

The following files will remain in the \Windows folder, they can be deleted, but are not necessary:

Good Tehcnlogy Technology OTA Setup.unload
GoodLink.htm
\My Documents\GetGoodLinkPPC - If removing an OTA provisioned device.

9. To remove from the Start menu, go to \windows\start menu and delete any of the following if they exist:
Good Calendar
Good Compose
Good Contacts
Good Email

10. To remove from the Programs menu, go to \windows\start menu\programs and delete any of the following if they exist:
Good Launcher
Good Notes
Good Tasks
Good Access
OTA Setup

11. Soft-Reset the device.
